Statistics & Data Science

Graduate Interdisciplinary Program

The Statistics and Data Science (SDS) Graduate Interdisciplinary Program at the University of Arizona is a unique training program designed to focus and enhance statistical training and research across the UA campus. Our mission is to develop the next generation of statisticians and data scientists, trained to meet the challenges of modern data analysis. Statistics and Data Science GIDP graduate students develop core knowledge in statistical theory and methodology, statistical computing and machine learning, and emerging statistical areas of data science. Students also gain experience in practical, trans-disciplinary research, and support University-wide activities in the broad areas of both theoretical and applied, interdisciplinary statistics. Approximately one-third of the graduate program is devoted to a chosen, subject-matter specialization.

The Statistics & Data Science Graduate Interdisciplinary Program offers a Ph.D.  (regular track and Informatics track), an M.S., a Certificate and a Ph.D. minor.  Also offered is an Accelerated M.S. for current University of Arizona students.
