- Complete coursework as described on the Program Requirements by Degree web page.
- PhD and MS students must complete the Communications Skills Requirements. Items 1 and 2 are self-explanatory and you receive credit for these items as soon as you submit the materials to the Program Coordinator. For item 3 you need to have a faculty member complete a survey for each item. The faculty member receives the survey link from the Program Coordinator.
- MS students must either pass the Qualifying Exam or do a thesis. PhD students must pass the Qualifying Exam. The Qualifying Exam is usually taken before the beginning of your second year. For more detailed information see the Program Handbook.
- Complete all of your Grad Path forms in order. For more information on Grad Path see the Grad College website.
- PhD students must pass a Comprehensive Exam. For more information on the Comprehensive Exam see the Program Handbook and/or talk to your advisor. The Comprehensive Exam is generally done in the 4th or 5th year.
