Steps to Degree Completion for Statistis & Data Science GIDP Students

  1. Complete coursework as described on the Program Requirements by Degree web page.
  2. PhD and MS students must complete the Communications Skills Requirements.   Items 1 and 2 are self-explanatory and you receive credit for these items as soon as you submit the materials to the Program Coordinator.  For item 3 you need to have a faculty member complete a survey for each item.  The faculty member receives the survey link from the Program Coordinator.
  3. MS students must either pass the Qualifying Exam or do a thesis.  PhD students must pass the Qualifying ExamThe Qualifying Exam is usually taken before the beginning of your second year.  For more detailed information see the Program Handbook
  4. Complete all of your Grad Path forms in order.  For more information on Grad Path see the Grad College website.
  5. PhD students must pass a Comprehensive Exam.  For more information on the Comprehensive Exam see the Program Handbook and/or talk to your advisor.  The Comprehensive Exam is generally done in the 4th or 5th year.
